| Step 3 :: Display your DSMP & start selling |
Now that you have encoded and uploaded your music for sale and have updated your artist pic and bio, you are ready to enable your storefront on any webpage you can edit and start selling your digital music online directly to your fans.
|
| NOTE: There is a specific process for adding your player to your MySpace page. For MySpace, due to filters they have in place, you should add an activation banner which states “Click Here to Purchase MP3s from this Artist” on your website. The banner is generated with easy cut-n-paste code. When clicked by your customers, a pop-up window with your Digital Media Storefront Player opens. See the section below titled: MySpace Webpages. |

| Displaying the Digital Storefront Media Player in Your Webpage |
Getting the code that will display your storefront is easy because we generate it for you. First you will need to get the HTML code that displays your DSMP.
- Open your regular artist webpage or social networking webpage up for Editing/Customizing. For a regular webpage this may involve using web editing software such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage. For a social networking site you maybe are using their online editing tool to change your artist page.
- In the Main Menu under View Information, select the Get Digital Storefront Media Player option. If you are editing your profile webpage on Myspace or Friendster, please check out the section regarding MySpace and Friendster below for a different method of implementing your music store.
- Select & Copy the Code: In the resulting page you will see a text box that displays the actual HTML code that you will copy and paste into your webpage where you want the player displayed. When you select the code in the box, make sure you are selecting ALL of it or the player not display or function properly. One way to do this is to select the the textbox by clicking somewhere in it and then pressing the CTRL + A keys to select all. Below the textbox is a preview of the player as it will appear in your website. WARNING! This is the actual player displayed and it will process any transactions made through it.
- Pasting the player to your personal webpage or website. If you are not supporting your own webpage then you’ll want to have whoever maintains your website copy and paste the code into the desired spot. If you are supporting your own webpage then you will want to use whichever web editing software you prefer (such as Dreamweaver or Front Page) to open and edit your page. Copy and paste the player code to a spot on the page with good visibility so your fans can find your store easily.
- Pasting the Player to a social networking webpage such as Xanga or Tagworld. (for MySpace webpages see the following section, as that process is different). This step will vary depending on your social networking site. You will most likely want to add the player as an html component or a media file. You should consult your social networking website’s help pages or an online tutorial for customization of your profile webpage.
